After Comet died 'Heather Boy' was purchased from Norman Bayles at West Auckland and he was succeeded by the homebred 'Lummas Prince' who sire was 'Heather's Son' owned by L.Wall, Raygill, Lartington.
Richie and Freda started breeding Lowhouses' ponies when they began farming on their own at Lowhouses, Newbiggin-in-Teesdale, in 1983. Their ponies are all black, section A, and they like the old fashioned type. Their first mare was Raygill Gemma who is now 30.
