We have had three filly foals born in 2011. Two of our mares, 5 y.o. Bella and Amba foaled for the first time and produced Rhona and Gayna, and 14 y.o Rebecca producedd Gemma (named after her grandmother) in May.
Rebecca had another good show season winning three championships - first at the Great Yorkshire Show and then Sedgefield and Weardale Shows.
At the Cumbria Fell and Dales Show in June both Lowhouses Toya and Lowhouses Gina were second in their class and Richie's great niece Olivia Stones, won the Dales Young Handler class with Toya. Toya (7 y.o) was second in the geld mare class at the Great Yorkshire Show, and had three seconds at the Breed Show in August, inhand, in the exericse cart class in a horrendous thunderstorm, and in the Young Handlers class with Olivia. She was also third in the exercise cart class at Eggleston Show and second in the Young Handlers.
Lowhouses Gina (3 y.o) was 3rd and 4th at the Spring and Summer Breed shows, won her class at Weardale Show and was 4th in a strong geld mare class at Eggleston Show.
Lowhouses Jemima, owned by Jill Gillthorpe, Gateshead, has had a very successful year in ridden classes.
Lowhouses J.R., the 6 yo stallion owned by Messers Atherden, Bucks won the Dales Championship at P(UK) Summer Champions in August.
11 y.o. Lowhouses Rebel, owned by Mr and Mrs Pennell, once again had a good year under saddle and once again qualified for HOYS in October and the RIHS in July.
6.y.o. Lowhouses Bright Star, owned by Amy Jones, had another brilliant season in Cornwall winning the Supreme Champion of Champions at the Cornwall Native Pony Show. He is also doing well in dressage.
Having sold 5 ponies last year we only had one to sell this year, and 3 y.o. Lowhouses Jessica II went to Melton Mowbray in June. She was bought unseen and the Painter family are over the moon with her. She has been broken to ride and they are really looking forward to showing her in 2012.
